Smart-Train Profiling Tools

Long ago we recognised that the key to ensuring the right training is delivered to the right people is to ensure that we first assess to what’s needed for the company as a whole.  Then we profile the key people; Identifying what their strengths are, and what can be further developed for them individually and as part of the team to ensure they are all working to their best ability for the overall objectives.

We searched high and low for a comprehensive set of appropriate tools to use for this, and then found it was actually most efficient and effective to create our own in association with our Fortune Group liaisons.   Rod Large, our founder, has a post graduate degree in behavioural studies having trained with Dr David Merrill, one of the acknowledged pioneers in the science of behavioural analysis.

We have four areas of focus and expertise in this area:

Identification of Characteristic Behaviour Pattern

This data allows management to identify the normal characteristic behaviour style of the individual and to relate this to the particular job requirement.  This knowledge can greatly improve an individual’s on-the-job performance.

Social Intelligence

Indicating a person’s ability to relate to other people and their flexibility in this regard.

Communication Skills

Showing a person’s breadth of knowledge in words, their meaning and ability to communicate at different levels of society.

Success Drive and Motivation

A person’s drive is measured accurately on a grid, showing the degree of inner motivation possessed by the individual.  This can be a critical area when considering an individual for career development or job selection.

The Smart Train Analysis can be prepared singularly for existing staff and management personnel, to provide valuable feedback for career planning and personal development. A composite of data prepared for a group of employees can provide a complete evaluation of that specific structure to dramatically improve the effectiveness of the individual and the group as a whole. We also review the candidate’s Mental Alertness Profile. This is a test on time limit and shows the aptitude a person has to absorb new knowledge and his/her ability to handle problems with varying degrees of complexity.

This aptitude dimension allows management to readily observe the person’s capacity to absorb training, allowing more effective planning of resources to guarantee improved communication and greater utilisation of manpower.

People Skills

This profile will discover your strengths and weaknesses in Personal Interaction and find out how to work with others to get the job done smarter.

Leadership Skills

Our Leadership skills evaluation profile helps discover specific areas that you can improve on so that you can get others to do what you want them to do – because they want to do it.  This will take you through key elements that leaders must understand in order to gain the willing co-operation of their people.

LEAN Productivity

Will clearly identify the level of understanding to ensure business processes are lean and effective.

The input for the profile takes approximately three hours to complete and a written report is reviewed by the client and a Smart Train Director either by telephone or in person.

If this is extended into a corporate profile, Smart Train provides a group summary for management development, recruiting, training need analysis and design of corporate strategies.
